Default How to: Oil Change Audi 2.0T FSI

Materials Needed:
- 5 quarts of VW 502.00 synthetic oil (right click & save to download)
- VW/Audi Oil Filter Element (Part# 06D 115 562, Mann/Hummel Part # HU719/6x)
- Replacement crush washer for drain plugTools Needed:
- T-25 Torx screwdriver
- 19mm ratchet or wrench
- 36mm socket & ratchet
- VW/Audi Tool #T40057
- Drain pan

1. Elevate the vehicle properly via jack stands or ramps. Be sure to chock the rear wheels and engage the ebrake to ensure a safe working space. It is best to change the oil while the engine is slightly warm so that the oil isn’t hot enough to burn you, but warm enough to drain from the engine.

2. Locate the splash shield / belly pan and remove the four T-25 torx screws on each side (8 total).

Remove the belly pan by disengaging the two tabs at the front of the pan and pulling back towards the rear of the vehicle.

3. Open up the hood via the hood release found on the lower left side of the driver’s console. Remove the oil filler cap.

4. Locate the oil filter housing and unscrew the black cover (tethered with cable) to expose the red bleeder valve.

5. Attach VW/Audi tool T40057 to the red bleeder valve by screwing it into the oil filter housing. Allow the oil in the filter to drain into your drain pan. When no more oil is present, remove the T40057 tool.

6. Attach the 36mm socket to a ratchet and remove the lower portion of the oil filter housing. Inside you will find two replaceable items: the filter cartridge and the housing seal.

7. Replace the filter medium and seal.

8. Re-attach the oil filter housing and tighten with the 36mm socket.

9. Locate the oil drain plug on the back of the oil pan facing the rear of the car. Remove the drain bolt with a 19mm ratchet / wrench and allow the oil to drain into your drain pan.

10. Replace the crush washer on the drain bolt. When the oil finishes draining, reinstall and tighten the drain bolt. Note: the drain bolt is actually installed at an upwards angle.

11. Re-install the belly pan and the 8 T-25 torx screws.

12. Pour in 4.5 quarts of a VW 502.00 synthetic into the oil filler and replace the oil filler cap.

13. Lower the vehicle and start the engine. Allow for the oil to cycle through the system for a few minutes. Shut off the engine and check the oil level. Add more oil as necessary and fill to the MAX line as indicated on the dip stick.

14. If your vehicle has a service interval display, reset using the instructions in your Audi owner’s manual.

15.Properly dispose of all waste oil and filters.
